I’m taking a break from Game development

My 1st year B.Sc. Honor’s exam’s are right around the corner.

So, what have I been doing for the last 2 weeks?

Nothing. I haven’t even fired up unity once in the last 2 weeks. I made a 3d maze game but there were so many ideas poping up in my head but couldn’t make any of them work. I was frustrated at myself. But now I know that it takes time to learn and understand even the basic concepts. That’s exactly why almost every successful indie game was made by someone with over 5 to 10 years of experience.

Here are some screenshots of the maze game I tried to make.

In the player controller I used character controller as suggested by brackeys and for camera control I tried using chinemachine. It was ok but I am not pleased with the results. Also I tried to make way points to let the player know which way to go.

And I also wanted to make the arrow get bigger and smaller over time so I explored some parts of LERP. Yeah you read the right!!! Why lerp you ask, why not just animated the arrow to do what you wanted it to do? Because I forgot about animating. I forgot that you can just animated various things in Unity or Blender. So yeah I wasted a whole day in trying to know what the freak is LERP.

So, that’s all. I’ll be back with game development journey in a couple of months.
